Two penalties for 15 yards over the first two quarters after eight last week. Two other good things for New England: penalties haven’t been as big a problem as they were last week. The Patriots’ offense needs to do a better job of taking advantage of those opportunities in the second half. (Folk was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts, and has now made 31 straight FGs.) At the same time, it feels like New England should have a bigger lead, especially after forcing three turnovers. A decent finish to the first half for the New England offense, which put three on the board when Nick Folk booted a 49-yarder at the end of the half.
But three first-quarter picks (the other one went to Adrian Phillips) have been the big story for the Patriots when it comes to defending the rookie quarterback. Not sure if New England is shuffling things up on the back end and making things confusing for Wilson or what.
So much for the Patriots figuring things out at cornerback while Stephon Gilmore remains on PUP.
